Fergie Denies Plastic Surgery Claims, Criticizes Magazine
Fergie has slammed an American magazine for suggesting she has undergone cosmetic surgery on her nose and eyebrows. Two pictures of The Black Eyes Peas star - one from the 1980s, and one from 2007 - are printed side-by-side in the current issue of Us Weekly, and a surgeon tells the publication it's likely Fergie has had a rhinoplasty procedure. But the 32-year-old has denied the claims, and admits such speculation upsets her so much she has seen a therapist. Fergie says, "One of those (celebrity) magazines says I've had a nose job and an eyebrow lift, which is completely untrue. Personally, I see a therapist. It's hard, it hurts my feelings. I call my hypnotherapist and cry and let it go. That's what I do (to cope). I think that they nitpick these days so much and it's just got to the point where it's ridiculous." And Fergie isn't the only celebrity angry with this week's issue of Us Weekly - actress Scarlett Johansson is threatening the magazine with legal action over claims she had undergone plastic surgery on her nose.

When I smiled, my nose was crooked, and it was hard to breathe on one side, Iovene said. My doctor in the U.S. wasnt interested in redoing the surgeryhe said I was too picky, and my nose was fine.
Ashley Tisdale's Nose Nipped
There's something about blond singer-actresses named Ashley and surgical procedures of the nasal variety. This time around, however, Ashley Tisdale is seeking to preempt tabloidal before-and-after schnoz shots, admitting that she underwent a rhinoplasty procedure in Los Angeles on Friday. But the 22-year-old High School Musical star is adamant the procedure was not done for cosmetic purposes. "Growing up, I always knew I had a deviated septum on the right side of my nose, which caused trouble breathing," she told People. "The older I got, the worse it got. I went to get it checked out, and the doctor told me the septum was 80 percent deviated and that I had two small fractures on my nose." Still in bandages from the five-hour procedure, Tisdale took care to assure fans she hadn't gone under the knife for a more photogenic profile and should not be looked to as an advocate of the plasticizing of Hollywood.

The Associated Press's Hillel Italie got in touch with romance literature's queen bee Nora Roberts yesterday and asked her what she thinks of the plagiarism accusations that have been hurled in recent days at Cassie Edwards, “the world's most prolific and popular author of Native American historical romance." Ms. Edwards, who, like Ms. Roberts, is published by an imprint of Penguin Group USA, admitted this week to “taking" passages from reference books and magazines after a website about romance lit posted side-by-side comparisons of passages from her book Shadow Bear and an article about black-footed ferrets from Defenders of Wildlife. Ms. Edwards has said she didn't realize she was supposed to cite sources, explaining that “When you write historical romances, you're not asked to do that." read more » .
